The Raiders Are Good? I Have Waited a Long Time For This

Are you kidding me? When I said the Raiders would go 13-3 I was getting crazy of "extra" as my wife would put it. Now I am starting to think I was on to something.

Being an Oakland Raiders fan is not easy. I have been a Yankee fan all my life and have been spoiled. On the football side things are very different. The few successes we have had as a fan base in my adult life were marred by stupid refs and huge coaching mistakes.

Coaching mistakes you say? How about the Rich Gannon led team that made it to the Super Bowl? Coached by Bill Callahan the team did not bother to change plays and team terminology from the previous year when they were coached by Jon Gruden. That led to the Raiders being dismantled in the Super Bowl. The best team they had was screwed by refs in the "Tuck Rule" game.

This turned out to be the beginning of the Tom Brady rule in New England.

Now Raider Nation has hope. The Oakland Raiders have a coach in Jack Del Rio, a QB in Derek Carr and a defensive beast in Khaliel Mack. We are back. Commitment to Excellence means something. We are tied for 1st in the AFC West after 5 weeks. Just win baby!
