Our fans are the best, they are loyal, hard working and funny but what you don't know about them is....

that they are interesting, talented, intelligent and funny.  Why should that come as a surprise to anyone?  I don't know, but it does.  The fact is I've heard people talk about the stereotype of a Classic Rock radio station fan and more specifically an I-95 fan.  Some of the stereo types are:

Mullet hair do's

Drug addicts/alcoholics

Molly Hatchet t-shirt wearing smelly fat dudes

The un-employable

Degenerates

Um, yes I wish I was kidding.  When people say these things I don't even listen.  I was raised on I-95 by my dad and he is a software engineer and the brightest, most responsible dude I know.  These stereotypes can be funny and in some cases true or they would not exist but in working here for 15 years and doing the morning show going on 7 years here is what else I know:

Our listeners live in:

CT:

Danbury

New Milford

New Fairfield

Brookfield

Bethel

Newtown

Sandy Hook

Southbury

Oxford

Ridgefield

Wilton

Weston

Brewster

Mahopac

Carmel

Putnam Lake

Patterson

Lagrangeville

Stormville

Mt. Kisco

Katonah....etc.

Those are ALL beautiful communities as a whole.  They all pay enormous property taxes and work hard.  I've lived in Brewster, Patterson, Putnam Lake and New Milford.  I've gone to church with these people, shopped next to them, worked with them.  90 percent of the people that listen to my show and our radio station are not just great human beings but accomplished people.  They have families, goals and big time careers.

I've met Scientists, lawyers, doctors, judges etc, that love our show and listen everyday.  Life is long and stressful.  Everyone wants to laugh and smile.  Laughing at a fart or a penis joke does not make you a mullet wearing, live in your mama's basement piece of human garbage...it makes you human.

I've done stand up comedy, stage work, TV and written for comedy websites around the country for a long time now.  The only thing I know for sure after all that time is that whatever you laughed at when you were 7, you are sure to laugh about now.  You may not want to admit it and that is fine but don't bag on people who are willing to admit it.

Some of our listeners listen everyday and never call or write.  Some would not even be willing to admit they listen unless it's in a private moment.  That does not concern me in the least as long as you listen.  Life is short, stressful and traumatic.  We have to laugh.  It's cliché' but true.

The comment I get more than any other is:  "Thank you, I hate my job, I hate my commute but you guys make my drive/my commute/my day tolerable!"  If that ends up being my legacy I will take it.

Thank you guys SO much for being the BEST listeners in radio.  Shows like our are evaporating on radio because radio companies and their sponsors are afraid to attach themselves to something that can EVER be offensive.  You guys hang in there with us and we will do everything we can to give you the funniest show we can every morning.
