What exactly is the definition of a Junk King? He's the guy who says, one man's trash is another man's treasure.

Tom McCabe recently left a successful career as a sales manager for a large corporation to become a new franchise owner of Junk King Tri-County. This ain't your 'pick up the garbage and dump it in a landfill' operation. Junk King markets its business to people who may be getting rid of old house-hold belongings that aren't ready for the dumping ground but may just need a new owner.

According to the Darien Daily Voice, 65 percent to 75 percent of the items the Junk King picks up, find new homes. McCabe says he's proud of the fact that he and his staff find eco-friendly solutions by donating, recycling, or repurposing almost every item they pick up. Once the truck rolls back to their Danbury warehouse with a load of stuff, the Junk King crew goes through each and every item. If an item has any life left, they'll find an outlet.

So how do they make money? McCabe told the Daily Voice they utilize online advertising and tag-sale sites to sell everything from clothing to house-hold goods to bicycles and furniture. Sometimes they'll even donate items to Goodwill. Got junk? For more info or to schedule a pick-up, click on jump-king.com
