This morning on the Ethan and Lou show, we were joined in studio by Kevin Brown of New Milford, CT and Donna Deluca of Newtown, CT. The two reached out to us after the segments we did last week addressing the issues of drugs and crime in our local communities.

They were very informative guests and shed some light on the issue of drugs in CT and where people can go for support and treatment.

What surprised me was the reaction we got on the phones to their segment. We ended up getting a lot of callers who wanted to politicize the issue, and I think that is pretty much the worst way to react. If anything is going to get done to curb the tide of drug use, specifically heroin, in the local area, people need to be informed and work together. This is not a me vs. you issue. It's something that concerns all of us. The drug problem in CT, and nationwide, needs to be met with an understanding of where it is coming from and a plan to fix it moving forward.

I want to personally thank both Kevin and Donna for their time.  If you, or a person you know, would benefit from any help and support you can contact the C.A.R.E.S. organization locally at.

You can also contact Donna Deluca directly at donna@thecaresgroup.org.

They also asked me to pass along special thanks to:

The New Milford Substance Abuse Prevention Council and the New Milford Youth Agency for all the work and effort they are putting into this.

Also, if you have information for the New Milford Police Department you can contact the anonymous tip line at 860-355-2000.
