According to the Huffington Post, a Discovery Channel film crew recently cruised out into Australian waters looking for a big-ass shark nicknamed "Joan of Shark." They tossed an underwater speaker off the side of the boat and cranked up some "death metal" music to attract the great white.

The sharks pick up on the low frequency of the music which, to them, resembles the sound of struggling fish. This clip is from the 2015 Shark Week special, "Bride of Jaws." Let's see if it worked.

"Joan of Shark" is the largest great white ever tagged electronically in Australian waters. This beast is 16 feet long and weighs in at around 1.8 tons! "Joan" was tagged off the southern coast of Western Australia after coming a bit too close to a popular beach. In 2011, an Australian tour boat operator found that sharks were attracted to "AC/DC" music when he placed an underwater speaker off the boat and found that the sharks behavior changed when they heard, "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap!"
