7 Apple Pickin’ Places in Connecticut to Start the Fall Season

Let the picking begin! This is my most favorite orchard of all time because my wife and I used to bring each of our three kids here every September! Unfortunately because of the weather, apple picking will be limited to Saturdays and Sundays this season BUT Blue Jay's Farm Market is open everyday from 9am till 6pm. Blue Jay is located at 125 Plumtrees Road in Bethel and they do hayrides and a pumpkin patch.

Silverman's Farm is located at 451 Sport Hill Rd. in Easton and their orchard is open for picking. They also have a farm market, pumpkin patch, florist and greenhouse, and an animal farm....perfect for the kids! They're open from 9am to 5pm and their number is 203-261-3306.

I couldn't find much information on the Warrup's Farm website but I did find some amazing reviews. The farm has been in the family for generations. They're located at 11 John Read Road in Redding. For more info, call 203-938-9403.

You'll find Beardsley's at 278 Leavenworth Rd.(Rt.110) in Shelton. Apple picking is only on weekends from 10am to 5pm. Their farm bakery is awesome and their homemade pies are 'to die for'! They suggest you call ahead for apple picking availability at 203-926-1098

Believe it or not Averill Farms has been owned by the same family since 1746. Sam Averill(9th genration) and his wife, Susan run the farm and their orchards are open through Thanksgiving from 9:30 until 5:30 seven days a week. The farm also sells their homemade apple cider along with their amazing apple cider donuts, pies, jams and jellies, and pumpkins, etc. They're located at 250 Calhoun Road, in Washington, CT.

Harvest Moon is your 'full service' apple picking orchard located at 130 Hardscrabble Road in North Salem, NY, where each weekend through October 30th they feature their 'Fall Festivals' complete with apple picking, pumpkins, bouncy house, hayrides, apple cannons, games, and live music!
