The New York Yankees are stinkin' up the AL East standings as the 2016 season gets underway. Any Yankee fan knows they'll be back.

Most of you know I'm a Mets fan, I've always been a Mets fan, but I've never been a Yankee's hater. The Yankees are an extra large portion of the history of MLB baseball and the winningest and most recognizable sports franchise in the world. As a baseball fan, how can you not have the utmost respect for a team that's steeped in decades of great moments. For you die hard fans, here are some of my favorite New York Yankee moments. Enjoy!

1. Lou Gehrig's Farewell Speech - On July 4, 1939, after learning he was suffering from ALS, one of the greatest players to play the game said goodbye to his millions of fans.

2. Mickey Mantle Completes the Triple Crown - In 1956, Mickey Mantle hit .353, hit 52 home runs, and batted in 130 RBI's. In 1956, Mickey Mantle was the best hitter in the world.

3. Aaron 'F*ckin' Boone's Game-Winning Home Run in Game 7 of ACLS Series - On October 16, 2003 in the bottom of the 11th inning against the Red Sox with the score tied at 5, Manager Joe Torre calls on Aaron Boone to hit against knuckleballer Tim Wakefield. One swing of Boone's bat was all it took to propel the Yankees into the World Series.

4. Don Larsen Throws World Series Perfect Game - It was October 8, 1956 and it was Game 5 of the World Series against the Dodgers with the Series tied 2-2, Don Larsen threw 97 pitches to record 27 outs. He's the only major league pitcher to throw a perfect game in the post season.

5. Mr. October, Reggie Jackson - On October 18, 1977, Reggie Jackson performed the unbelievable feat of hitting three home runs in Game 6 of the '77 World Series to help the New York Yankees win their first title in 15 years.
