Alright folks it's time to gather around the table. I have for you my ten favorite servings of musical greatness that are all about giving and thanking. Let's dig in!

KISS - "God Gave Rock & Roll To You II"

The original 1973 version of this song from the band Argent gave a lot but KISS's 1991 version of the song gives even more. Thank you, by the way, to God for giving Rock & Roll to me. I don't know where I'd be today without it.

Grateful Dead - "If I Had The World To Give"

This is one my favorite Grateful Dead songs and it's one that only serious Dead fans would know. Jerry Garcia doesn't just want to give, he wants to give the world.....If only he had it to give.

ZZ Top - "I Thank You"

How can we not include this heart-warming song of thanks from ZZ Top? Every man should be thankful for the woman in their life, especially those who take the time to "shake it" for their man. Remember, they didn't have to but they did but they did.

    James Gang - "Thanks"

I would like to thank Joe Walsh for the many, many great songs he's written and recorded and this is certainly one of them. From 1970, James Gang's "Thanks" says it all.

    Tesla - "What You Give"

"Can't think about a-nothin' but your good, good love,
and what you give." This is a very cool track from Tesla and it definitely has held up well since it's original release back in 1991.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - "Give It Away"

Just give it all away man. Free yourself from yourself. It's Thanksgiving. What better time than now?

Sammy Hagar - "Give To Live"

It's pretty much impossible for me to create any "best-of" list without something or someone Van Halen related making an appearance so here it is. Sammy Hagar recorded this song with Edward Van Halen on bass in 1987. This is back when Sammy and Eddie enjoyed sharing things, of course.

Supertramp - "Give A Little Bit"

A song that keeps on giving over three decades later and it doesn't matter what time of year we hear it. A thanks to Supertramp's Roger Hodgson for writing this classic "giving" song.

    Pete Townshend - "Give Blood"

Giving blood can make the difference between life and death and Pete Townshend gets that message across brilliantly here. I'm sure he was also "thankful" to Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour who "gave" his talents to Townshend on this track.

    Led Zeppelin - "Thank You"

Lately Robert Plant has been taking some heat for continuing to thwart any kind of Led Zeppelin reunion but today we put that aside and give him many thanks for writing some of the greatest lyrics in rock. The following are most certainly among them: "And so today, my world it smiles, your hand in mine, we walk the miles, thanks to you it will be done, for you to me are the only one"
