Getting Married is Exhausting No Matter How You Do It
We got married ... Erica and I in the most simple of ways, but our families want to be involved and that is great. So, we decided to throw a party, which has become a wedding slash project. List of responsibilities include:
- Picking a date when essential personnel can be present...i.e. family from out of town, DJ, caterer...blah...blah...blah..
- Making a guest list....good luck to me with my mother.
- Finding people's addresses for invites....holy cow man.
- Watching my wife do most of the work and feeling lazy....not fun....because then I get up off my ass and start doing things.
- Watching Erica comb through dresses online and try and figure out an outfit for me.
- Securing a venue...which we did....not without borrowing money which you never get used to although at this point I should be.
- Fighting with people that did not like that we eloped....no one that matters of course and now we say bye bye to them till the end of time.
- Most important is trying to make three little boys wrap their heads around the idea that we are a family now. We are a broke ass Brady Bunch that loves each other.
I've done crazy things in my life. This is easily viewed as the craziest I have done from the outside, but the most sane beautiful and responsible thing I have EVER done. Love you Erica.
