Things you need to know on June 5.

Thanks to MetroNews Source for the following.

  • General Electric wants to find a new place for their headquarters. The reason? Gov. Dannel Malloy and legislative Democrats imposed a large tax increase on corporations in the new budget. GE says they have formed an exploratory team to seek out a state for their headquarters with a more business friendly environment.
  • Allergies are really a big thing. Now besides the whole peanut issue, it appears that flowers are a concern too for some schools. Fox CT is reporting if you are going to the Shelton Intermediate School cotillion tonight the exchanging of real flowers at the eighth grade dance has been banned because of allergies. Students will receive a long stem silk flower at the event.
  • Are you getting married this year? Have you chose the "Most Popular" wedding song one?  Spotify has named John Legend's "All of Me"  the world's Most Popular Wedding Song for this year.  It edged out songs like Bruno Mars' "Marry You," Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" and Christina Perri's "A Thousand Years." As far as I'm concerned you can still give me Journey's "Faithfully" or Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters"
  • Way to go girl. Miss Piggy picked up the Sackler Center First Award for feminism this week. She was recognized as a trailblazer who's inspired generations with her determination and humor. "Ms." magazine co-founder Gloria Steinem presented the award and said what she admires most about Piggy is that she's her own self and is "human."
