At the age of 28, and still in his prime as a player, former Danbury Whaler captain, David Lun has been named the coach of the new FHL hockey team, the Brewster Bulldogs. So why did Lun call it quits on his playing days?

According to the News-Times, Lun didn't hesitate to accept the offer saying, "I'm very excited about the opportunity. I always knew I'd get into coaching, but I never realized it would be so soon. But this opportunity came along and I jumped at it."

The Bulldogs open up the new FHL season on Nov. 6 against the Danbury Titans.

Bruce Bennett, who owns both teams is thrilled to have Lun behind the Bulldog's bench and told the News-Times, "He's just one of those special guys and he knows the game very well. It's an absolutely perfect fit!"

The six teams, according to the News-Timesare the Danbury Titans, the Brewster Bulldogs, the Berlin River Drivers (NH), the Danville Dashers (IL), the Dayton Demolition (Ohio), and the Port Huron Prowlers (Mich).
