After 26 years as the Eagles guitarist and co-songwriter, Don Felder was fired on February 7th, 2001. He didn't go quietly. He filed two lawsuits claiming wrongful termination and then Don Henley and Glenn Frey counter sued. In May of 2007, the case was settled out of court. When we spoke with Felder, I asked him about his split with the band and without going into any detail he told me it was due to philosophical and musical differences and that was that. Not only was Felder a masterful lead guitarist, he was also a talented songwriter. He was the Eagle who wrote the music for "Hotel California" and co-wrote many other Eagle's songs.
