The Fireball Run is coming to Putnam County this fall. On Friday afternoon, September 30, Route 6N in Mahopac will serve as a pit stop for the 10th annual Fireball Run.

The Fireball Run consists of teams of adventure seekers as they compete in a 2,000 mile, trivia road race. The 10th Anniversary season will see the teams venture through New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Massachusetts in pursuit of America’s most unique places and historic artifacts. Only one team will come out victorious.

The Fireball Run is also known for their work finding missing children across the country. Each team will have a missing child associated with their vehicle, and will be given flyers of missing children to hand out to locals. Through their efforts, the Fireball Run has successfully returned over 40 children to their families during the last ten years.

At 7 AM on the morning of October 1, 2016, the streets of Mahopac will be lined with contestants' hot rods before they take off for their final destination of Amesbury, MA. The day continues with the Italian-American Club of Mahopac’s Annual Columbus Day Parade at 10:00 AM. Following the parade, it's the Greater Mahopac-Carmel Chamber of Commerce’s annual Street Fair.
