Time to get a jump on holiday shopping while helping out a great organization in Connecticut.

I wish I was a crafty person. You know, creative in an artsy way. It doesn't matter though, because I know how to open up my wallet and purchase other people's goods.

With the holiday season right around the corner I thought I'd share a local event you might want to check out. The Brookfield Historical Society is hosting its annual craft festival on Saturday Nov. 4 at Whisconier Middle school located at 17 West Whisconier Road, Brookfield Connecticut.

It's called the Festival of Crafts, the holiday show is one of New England's largest craft shows. selling handmade crafts and one-of-a-kind gifts

You'll find everything from jewelry, decorative pieces, folk art, soaps, soft sculptures, clothing, baskets, handbags, candles, assorted holiday treasures, edible delicacies, wood crafts, pet items and more. Enough that you can certainly pick up gifts for quite a few people, including yourself!

The festival is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 4 at Whisconier Middle School. Admission is $5 for adults or $4 with a coupon that can be found on the website for the Brookfield Historical Society. Children 12 and under get in for free.
