Why is this man smiling?

50 Cent's mansion becoming a nursing home? Now, that begs the comment, nice crib!

I don't live too far away from what was once a show place for both Mike Tyson, and, more recently, 50 Cent. That said, the address of 50 Poplar Hill Drive in Farmington has always been a world away. I wish I could say that I've been there, but even a drive-by glimpse of anything more than the gate was never possible. Legions of celebs spent time there though, and eventually, Mike sold it to 50 Cent. As if the opulence of 21 bedrooms, 25 bathrooms, 9 kitchens, and a nightclub wasn't enough, 50 dumped a boat load of money on renovations.

Now, there's word that the mansion, once listed for sale at $18 million, might finally sell. According to TMZ.com, the beauty has sold for about $8 million, and a developer is thinking about turning it into an assisted living facility.

Thankfully, I don't need assisted living, but if I did, this would sure as hell be a sweet spot! However, hopes may have just been dashed by a rep for 50. In a follow-up story at People.com, it appears as though the mansion is still available. Damn, so close, and yet, still so far away. Guess I'll still just keep driving by.
