According to WTIC-TV in Hartford,18-year-old Austin Haughwout from Clinton Connecticut has gotten the attention of Federal Aviation officials, because of his video allegedly showing a drone that was able to fire bullets from a handgun.

The FAA is investigating to find out if Haughwout violated its regulations, which prohibit the careless or reckless operation of a model aircraft.

Haughwout made headlines last year when a woman was charged with assault when she got into a confrontation with Haughwout about flying his drone over a state beach. Haughwout posted a video showing the woman calling him a "pervert," striking him and ripping his shirt.

Haughwout's father told WFSB-TV that his son built the drone with the help of a Central Connecticut University professor. Haughwout told ABC News he was pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering and the drone was one of his many projects.
