Ethan Carey of i95 and "The Ethan & Lou Dance Machine" teaches Lou Milano (me) and you the listener how to cue a vinyl record like they did in the olden days.

This guy was a maestro back when you were forced to focus before the days of automation. He could cue a jazz record like nobody's business and I want to learn and I hope you do to.

He has so many skills you might not know about ... like, do you know he can put his legs all the way behind his head. It's true. He is very flexible and spry ... yep, he is spry.

You see kids, back in the 60s, 70s and early 80s these guys actually did radio shows that required laser focus and giant black disc shaped objects called vinyl records. What they would have to do is attach a needle to this mutant plastic at just the right spot which would read an embedded code that was imprinted in the shape of the disc that would send a message through a series of wires and into your speaker or your radio board and that is where the sound came from.

Here's how it works:

Quite cool if you ask me.

It's not done this way anymore, a far cry actually, but we still have the capability and it's fun to do.

Listen to Lou Milano on the Ethan & Lou Show weekdays from 5:30-10AM on 95.1 FM. You can listen online at i95rock.com/listen-live/ or by downloading the radioPup app for your mobile device.
