Here's a sad story out of Germany about a metal head fan who suffered bleeding in the brain after headbanging at a Motorhead concert.

http://youtu.be/wytm2bUUTCIOne of the doctors who treated the unnamed headbanging victim said that the violent shaking of the head can sometimes be enough to cause damage as the brain bumps up against the skull, but the risk of injury is very very low. The doctor went on to say that heavy metal fans should not give up headbanging for the sake of their health.
