According to accuweather.com, armed with its legions of cold crisp arctic air, the Polar Vortex is setting its sights on the Northeastern US.

This sneaky little bastard of weather phenomena is a pocket of cold air that hangs out over the polar region during the winter months. The only way it visits our northeastern neighborhoods is if a ginormous high-pressure system makes its way all the way to Alaska, and pushes this freezing air south.

This main thrust of cold air will track through the Great Lakes, through New England and the northern part of the mid-Atlantic.

The freezing air will begin moving into our area this Saturday evening. After temperatures in Brewster reach 68 on Thursday and 64 on Friday, they will plunge down to 34 on Saturday evening, 25 on Sunday night, and 28 on Monday evening. Danbury's temperatures will be very much like Brewster, NY.

The further north you live in New England, the colder the air temp. For instance, in Bangor Maine the overnight temps will reach into the teens on Sunday and Monday nights.

No need to duct tape Wonder Bread around your head this time around. I would suggest plenty of wine, a fireplace, if you have one, and a hot girlfriend or wife to keep you toasty. Don't worry, you'll get thru this!
