I was reading an article from the "Naugatuck Patch" about what nicknames people are called from the state they live in. For instance if you live in Alaska, you might be called an "Alaskan", or if you live in Nebraska, you might be called a "CornHusker."It came to my attention that Connecticut residents have not adopted an official nickname for themselves. I have heard many such as, "Connecticuters," "Nutmeggers," "Connecticutians," "Connecticutlets," and even "Connectkites." Why does "everything" have to have a cutesy nickname attached to it?! For instance, ladies, do you have a silly nickname for your boyfriend like "Batty Boo," or "Doodle Bug," or maybe "Honey Badger?" Don't those nicknames make you want to slap someone? How about nicknames for girlfriends like, "Sausage Toes, " or "Doll Face," or maybe, "Bubble Butt."

My point here is.....Who in holy hell cares?!!!! Connecticut residents don't need a stupid nickname! In fact, no one needs a cutesy ass nickname. In the general scheme of things, I can barely wrap my head around the more important things happening around the world like, Chelsea Handler showing her butt on Instagram, or knowing that over the last 3,500 years, there has been only 250 years of peace in the world, Oregon is going to start making beer out of sewage and a chiropractor in Iowa was recently accused of giving some of his patients exorcisms. So please, don't ask me about coming up with a nickname for us Connecticut residents because it's a "freak show" out there!!
