Today is a big day for local cities and towns, with lots of municipal elections happening.

Polling places are open until 8 PM throughout Connecticut, 9 PM in New York and at 8 PM in most places in Massachusetts. Click here to find  more information your polling place, races and candidates.

According to the Hartford Courant, about a 30% turnout is expected statewide on this election day, with some towns performing better or worse. Local elections traditionally have a lower turnout than in a Presidential election year.

Don't like the way things are going in your town? Here's your chance for your voice to be heard, and heard loudly. Are you very happy with the way your town is run? Again, it's your chance to help maintain things.

It's always been my opinion that if you don't vote, you can't turn around and complain about how things are going. That applies to city, state, and country. So, exercise that right and vote today.
