This just in people. Amazon has just announced the 20 finalists for its HQ2.

As I clicked on the article on danbury.dailyvoice.com, I put my hand over my eyes afraid to look to see if Danbury had been chosen as one of the finalists. Here are the twenty finalists in alphabetical order as chosen by Amazon's main headquarters in Seattle.

  • Atlanta - Georgia
  • Austin - Texas
  • Boston - Mass.
  • Chicago - Illinois
  • Columbus - Ohio
  • Dallas - Texas
  • Denver - Colorado
  • Indianapolis - Indiana
  • Los Angeles - California
  • Miami - Florida
  • Montgomery County - Maryland
  • Nashville - Tenn.
  • Newark - NJ
  • New York - NY
  • Northern Virginia
  • Philadelphia - PA
  • Pittsburgh - PA
  • Raleigh - N.C.
  • Toronto - Canada
  • Washington D.C.

Alas, Unfortunately, Danbury did not make the cut. All along my gut was telling me that Amazon would be aiming for a location in or near a major city because of the size of this $5 billion building and the possibility of 50,000 jobs.

Over 150 cities in Canada, the United States, and Mexico expressed interest in bidding for the new Amazon HQ2. Here's the official pitch video from Mayor Mark Boughton.

The following is one of the best Amazon pitch videos from a city that made the Top 20 and did it without saying one word.
