With St. Patrick's Day approaching quickly, Danbury's official Irish rockers, the Mighty Ploughboys have been busy. The quintet has announced a week's worth of St. Patrick's Day performances, and released a video for their new single, "Up And Down."

The Mighty Ploughboys are Patrick Hearty, John Rich, Renato Ghio, Sean Finnerty and Jim Lynch. They have been a fixture on the Danbury Rock scene for about a decade with their combination of Rocked-up traditional Irish songs and catchy originals.  From headlining concerts on the Danbury Green to putting on their own "free beer till the keg runs out" parties at the Greater Danbury Irish Cultural Center, they are the go-to band when you want to down a pint of Guinness, and sing a chorus of "Foggy Dew."

This next week will be a busy one for the band, as the week around St. Patrick's Day is for any Irish band worth their weight in corned beef. This Saturday, they'll headline the "Paddy On The River" in Poughkeepsie.  On St. Patrick's Day they play at Daryl's House in Pawling, transforming Daryl Hall's nightclub into a raucous Irish Pub. And next Saturday night they are back at their home base, the Greater Danbury Irish Cultural Center on Lake Avenue.

On top of all that, the band has released a new single and video, "Up and Down." It's the first release on their new record label, Paddy Boy Records. You can check it out below.
