Danbury has long been a city known for its wonderful diversity. To celebrate that, Mayor Mark Boughton has sent a call to local artists and graphic designers to design artwork for traffic control boxes in the downtown area.

"Outside the Box," Danbury's Traffic Box Art Program, is designed to convert ordinary traffic light signal boxes into beautiful works of art which will be on display next spring. Mayor Boughton is encouraging local artists to find inspiration from the city and submit draft proposals now through January 8, 2018. Selected artists will then have until February 19, 2018 to present final print-ready designs in time for spring.
