So the rumors have been flying and no one knew what was what.

I have had a close business relationship with Bruce Bennett of Bruce Bennett Nissan and Coach Phil Esposito of the Danbury Whalers for a long time.  We have had them on recently to talk about developments in Danbury hockey but only received half answers as they worked on things.

This morning all things changed in that regard.  Both Bruce and Phil came on to give us details and update us on whether hockey at the Ice arena in Danbury would be a thing this season.

We got our answer.  It is happening.  It will be in Danbury Ice arena, Phil Esposito will be the head coach, there is a "name the team" contest here  ........

Gonna be great!  You can hear the interview on Ethan Carey's blog page later today.

The most interesting thing is that the Whalers ownership bailed for Brewster, NY when they got bounced from the arena and now they have a new FHL team and name:  "The State line Whalers and they will compete in an obvious rivalry with the newest version of Danbury hockey.  This is what I am most excited about is this rivalry.

I grew up in Brewster, I used to hang at the Brewster Ice Arena, I've worked in greater Danbury area since I'm 19, I'm friends with Coach Phil, friends with Bruce Bennett, I know and have worked with the owner of the Whalers Herm Sorcher.  This is going to be amazing.  Hopefully both teams are run well and can stay profitable.

FACE-OFF!  GO!
