Sunday was a big day in the life of former Danbury High School and Villanova Football star, Austin Colitro. The Danbury standout has gotten another step closer to fulfilling his dream by signing a free agent contract with the New York Jets.

According to danburydailyvoice.com, Austin signed a free agent contract to play his NFL Football right here in the tri-state area.

I watched Austin Colitro grow up here in Danbury, playing both Football and Baseball, and I’m not surprised that he’s gone so far during his Football career.

A standout on the gridiron for the Danbury Hatters for four seasons, Austin choose Villanova to play his collegiate football. The 6′ 1”, 247 lb. linebacker started out on special teams before becoming a defensive starter, team captain, and an all-American.

I want to congratulate Austin for realizing his NFL dream. Also congratulations to his parents, who are two of the nicest people you would want to meet. They must be so proud.

Check out Austin's highlight video, and if you're a fan of "Gang Green", picture the hurt he's going to be putting on opponents.
