Butthead's Tobacco Emporium in Danbury will allow licensed gun owners to carry  this Saturday.

Their 2nd Amendment event starts at noon on Saturday, and goes to 4 pm. They plan to do it the second Saturday of each month. When I heard about this, I called the owner, Kevin Paige, who we have known from years of working closely with the radio station on charity events. Kevin confirmed this event is happening. Kevin told me that the Danbury Police Department is aware of it. For customers to enter while carrying they will have to present their carry license at the door and they will get a wristband.

Guns are a hot button issue right now. Every time we do a segment about guns on the Ethan and Lou morning show, we find that there seems to be no grey area. People seem to be dug in on both sides. It's become a no win situation from a dialogue standpoint. Minds are made up, and the country is divided.

I can tell you this from experience. Taking a public stance on an issue like this as a business man is risky. I have to applaud Kevin for being brave enough to take a stand, whether I agree with it, or not. I just hope he knows what he is getting into. When we spoke, both he and I were on the same page. We both think he will probably have a huge wave of support from many of his customers. He will also receive a lot of criticism from people who read about this, here, or somewhere else.

Again, if you would like to attend the Butthead's Tobacco Emporium second amendment event, it's this Saturday from noon-4pm at 5 Padanaram Rd. Danbury, CT.
