If you've recently eaten at one specific Chipotle in Danbury, or any Chipotle location in Connecticut, make sure you check your credit card statement. Your card may have been breached.

Chipotle announced that its customer payment system had been breached back in April and according to nbcconnectcicut.com, the company has now released locations affected by the nationwide data breach. Apparently, there are 22 locations in Connecticut that were found to have issues, including the Danbury location in the Danbury Fair Mall on Backus Ave.

In a statement on the company's website, Chipotle said it detected "unauthorized activity" on the system. If you used your credit or debit card at any of these compromised Chipotle locations between March 24, 2017, to April 18, 2017, make sure you monitor your credit card activity to see if there are any strange or unusual charges that you did not make.

Chipotle officials also said that not all locations were involved and specific time frames vary by location.

The type of malware detected will sometimes scrape the cardholder's name in addition to card number, expiration date, and internal verification code.

The restaurant has assured its customers that the breach has been stopped and additional security measures have been added, though the investigation is ongoing.
