You're not going to believe what this middle school asked the students to do on "Spotlight Day."

According to an article in Newsweek Magazine, a dad who has a student at the Iowa Middle School in Iowa, Louisiana is furious over the school's "Spotlight Day."The dad's name is M.J. Mouton and his tweet voicing his anger over dress-up week has gone viral. Here is how the tweet reads:

My daughter's school has dress up week. Monday is Wear Red if you are taken. Wear Green if you are single. Wear Yellow if it is complicated. She is in middle school. Totally inappropriate. Welcome to Louisiana.

Dress up day is part of Spirit Week at Iowa Middle School. Mouton told news station KPLC that the middle school should not be playing matchmaker for 10 to 14 year-olds. Could this be an example of the contrasting lifestyles between the north and south? Relationship status? Middle school kids are too young and immature to even know what a "relationship" is.

Bottom line, middle school is kooky town and hormones are flying everywhere. Having to go to school wearing green signifying that you don't have a girlfriend or boyfriend and are available is traumatic for most kids at this age. These kids are already insecure enough, and off their nut trying to find out who they are and where they fit in. Whoever came up with this idea and the teachers that supported the idea should serve a four hour Saturday detention. Just sayin.'
