This is it, people. If you want to guarantee your ability to vote in our state on election day, today's the day to do so.

No matter which way you are leaning for the Presidential election, you have to know the right to vote is a sacred one, envied by many. Insure you can make your voice heard in 2016.

Election Day is now a week away and today, Nov. 1, is the deadline to register to vote in Connecticut either online or in person. If you want to register by mail you must have your registration cards postmarked no later than November 1.

For information about where and how to register, go to sots.ct.gov

In a press release, Secretary of the State Denise Merrill says a record number of people, well over two-million, in Connecticut have registered to vote in our state.

Yes, you can try to wait until the last minute by attempting to register on election day, but keep in mind that lines are expected to be long. Also you can only do it at certain locations.

I urge you to exercise your right to vote. Make sure you are registered now.
