They fought and gave their lives for our country and our freedoms. Nice to be able to give back a bit.

I wasn't aware of the Honor Flight organization or that they had a chapter in New England, New England Honor Flight. Then, I saw this story on wtnh.com, and I had to share it with you. The mission of Honor Flight is to take veterans to Solemn Sites in Washington, DC. to give them closure.

As you can imagine, time is running out for many World War Two veterans seeing as most are in their 90s. Think about how many members of your family fought this heroic battle. I know if my dad was still alive, I'd be so grateful for him to be able to be a part of what Honor Flight offers. Veterans are able to visit war memorials in the nation's capital free of charge. New England Honor Flight Chapter takes off this weekend to say thanks to those who served their country.

By the way, both Honor Flight and New England Honor Flight are non-profit and exist with our donations.
