Just another reason why you need to watch fireworks displays from afar. Maybe even the comfort of you home on the flat screen TV.

Fireworks displays can be so amazingly awe inspiring. There's nothing like sitting outside, ooh-ing and ahh-ing, as you watch spectacular displays. In many states, you can drive around in the summer months and see numerous tents filled with fireworks for sale. Many major retailers even sell them. I have to be honest here, I'm not hanging in your back yard as you put on your "private" display. Too many things can go wrong. Just like the rest of this story will point out.
In a story from nbcconnecticut.com, a guy from Waterbury is missing part of his arm after a fireworks accident over the weekend. Emergency workers took 28-year-old Derek Dooley to the hospital and police say a piece of metal took his arm off below the elbow. According to the police, the incident happened during an unlicensed fireworks show. State Police detectives are investigating the incident.

Sadly, this won't be the last time we hear about tragic accidents like this.
