Lawmakers in Connecticut are attempting to put the hammer down on drivers who feel it's OK to drive with their dog in their lap.According to The Newstimes, the General Assembly is considering a bill that would outlaw drivers from carrying their pets on their laps.

They claim it's as distracting as using a cellphone, texting, and eating while behind the wheel.

When asked if the law pertained to pets who had professional driving training, lawmakers refused to comment.
