  • Connecticut lawmakers considering a scaled back version of a bill that would expand casino gambling.The measure the Senate has drawn up would allow for a single additional casino in Connecticut instead of the three that had been under consideration.The new casino would be a joint venture between the Mohegan and Mashantucket tribes.
  • Palcohol probably a "no Go" in the state. A bill banning powdered alcohol in Connecticut is heading to Governor Malloy's desk for his consideration. The House yesterday passed the bill by a wide majority, with only two members voting no.
  • A Shelton man is dead following a hang gliding accident in New York state. Officials say 44-year-old Scott Trueblood flew his hang glider into the side of a mountain on Sunday. Trueblood apparently did not try to turn the glider away from the mountain, causing speculation that he had some kind of a medical issue.
  • The 27th annual Fleet Week celebration kicks off Wednesday in New York City with the arrival of the Naval and Coast Guard ships. They will travel up the Hudson River to the George Washington Bridge. The ships will then be at Pier 92 in Manhattan for the entire Fleet Week that runs through May 26th - which by the way is Pam Brook's birthday! Oh Happy Day- the Fleet is in!
