Are you a food truck owner? This could be your new gig.

Food trucks have grown in popularity over the last few years. So much so that there's even festivals built around them.

If you are the owner of one, a new opportunity has presented itself in Connecticut.

You know what it's like as a commuter, rushing to get out of the house with little time to spare, and no time to grab a bite to eat or get coffee.

If you make use of the West Haven Metro North station, Connecticut's transportation officials feel your pain, and are looking to help.

A press release from the Connecticut Department of Transportation says that the DOT is looking for food truck vendors who may be interested in operating at the station weekday mornings:

In response to requests from commuters and the recent success in obtaining a vendor for the Fairfield Metro rail station, the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is seeking proposals from interested food truck vendors to operate at the West Haven train station

Are you interested? Time to get your proposal ready:

A mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit is scheduled for Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. for all prospective proposers. This conference will be held in the main lobby of the station, located at 20 Railroad Avenue. Responses to the RFP will be due by Friday, June 30, 2017.

For further info contact Daniel M. Baker in CTDOT’s Office of Rail at 203-497-3363 or Daniel.Baker@ct.gov, to request a copy of the Request for Proposals ( RFP )

Mornings and commutes can be hell. Good food and coffee go a long way to making it better.
