  • Long lines and waits continue at the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles. DMV Commissioner Andres Ayala says while the wait times are improving, it will still take the agency more time to adjust to a new computer system. The new technology allows people to perform some tasks online, but registering a vehicle still must take place at a DMV office.
  • You're losing days and dollars during your commute between Bridgeport and Stamford. A new report from Texas A-and-M Transportation places that corridor as the 19th worst commute in the nation. It says drivers who use I-95 between the two cities spent 49 extra hours in their vehicles last year. That's an extra two days of your life, and over $900 in additional fuel costs.
  • Some good news on the jobless front. The number of people filing first-time requests for unemployment benefits is the lowest its been in three weeks. The Labor Department says initial claims were down by some 6,000 last week at a total of 271,000. Most analysts were expecting the total to be around 274,000.
  • Is this you? New research finds that there are 280-million "mobile addicts"worldwide. A "mobile addict" is considered someone who opens mobile apps on their phone more than 60 times a day. Research from Yahoo! indicates that regular users will open their apps about 16 times each day. The findings say that in the U.S., we spend about three hours and 40 minutes a day on our mobile device That's up 35 percent from last year.
