  • Budget discussions between Governor Malloy and legislative leaders from both parties are scheduled to get underway today. Malloy called for budget talks and a special session of the legislature after the projected deficit reached 118-million-dollars last week.

 

  • Accused serial killer William Devin Howell is due in New Britain Superior Court this week. Howell is accused of killing multiple women and dumping their bodies behind a New Britain strip mall.

 

  • Whole Foods has recalled curry chicken salad and deli pasta salads because of possible listeria contamination. The salads were sold in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine. No illnesses have been reported. Customers are encouraged to return the salads to the store where they were purchased for a full refund.

 

  • New York Senator Chuck Schumer and his cousin, comedian Amy Schumer, are taking on gun violence. The Schumers say their plan would make background checks better and shut down the illegal pipeline of guns.
