CT And NY Could See More Snow And Another Deep Freeze This Week

The winds of change are blowing yet again in Connecticut and New York as another winter storm system moves in on Tuesday and continues into early Wednesday. So, here we go again. Looks like old man winter is ready to wack us again with another round of snow and bitter cold once mid-week arrives.

Right now, the National Weather Service says that our weather takes a turn during the day on Tuesday with some light snow, changing to rain, then back to snow before it tappers off early Wednesday morning. That, coupled with another arctic blast of air, will put us back in the deep freeze Wednesday night through Saturday, with daytime highs only in the teens and overnight lows in the single digits to around zero.

So how much snow can we expect with this latest system? It all depends on the storm track, but right now it looks like there will be some accumulation in our area, especially just north of the I-84 corridor.

After the precipitation ends, we'll see arctic air moving in and once again, temperatures will drop to around zero or even below zero in some of the cooler spots.

Tuesday
A slight chance of snow before 9 am, then a chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 41. Wind chill values between 20 and 30. Southeast wind 6 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Tuesday Night
Rain before midnight, then rain and snow likely between midnight and 3 am, then a chance of snow after 3 am. Low around 23. Southeast wind 9 to 14 mph becoming west after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of less than half an inch possible.

Wednesday
Mostly sunny, with a high near 27. Breezy.

Wednesday Night
Partly cloudy, with a low around 5.

Thursday
Sunny and cold, with a high near 16.
