Craft Beer Fans Celebrate New Breweries in Ridgefield, Stamford and Possibly New Milford
Craft beer fans rejoice! A new brewery has just been approved for Route 7 in Ridgefield!
It's not a done deal yet, but special permits have been secured so it's looking good for Nod Hill Brewery which would be located at 137 Ethan Allen Highway in Ridgefield. According to an article in the NewsTimes, the permits were granted in January but the proposed brewery still needs to acquire further approvals to be up and running which means an opening could be months down the road. Good news for beer fans who live in southern Fairfield County. Lock City Brewing Company in Stamford is planning a late spring opening at 54 Research Drive.
After hearing about Housatonic Valley Brewing, a new local craft brewery being proposed for New Milford, I reached out to the owner, Dave Littlefield, the owner, who told me that the original location they had chosen ran into some zoning issues so now they're scouting other possible locales. Dave also told me their first choice is definitely in New Milford but they've has to widen their search criteria to surrounding towns. He also stated,
We're looking for someplace unique with the right vibe, not some retail space in a strip mall.
Once they've found a new location and it's locked in, Dave promised to reach out with all the foamy details! Stay tuned beer lovers!
