Here's the Good and the BAD of this day in history.

Two very different ends of the spectrum.

First the good: The Chevy Corvette was introduced at a car show in New York City.

The first generation Corvette was introduced late in the 1953 model year. Originally designed as a show car for the 1953 Motorama display at the New York Auto Show, it generated enough interest to induce GM to make a production version to sell to the public. First production was on June 30, 1953.

I actually dated a guy once just because he drove a Vette ... oh DO NOT judge me or give me THAT LOOK!

Now the bad: Prohibition started.

Prohibition in the United States was a nationwide constitutional ban on the sale, production, importation, and transportation of alcoholic beverages that remained in place from 1920 to 1933. It was promoted by "dry" crusaders movement, led by rural Protestants and social Progressives in the Democratic and Republican parties.

Spoil Sports!

BUT in 1933 the 18th Amendment was repealed and booze flowed freely again. Though I am absolutely certain I would have been a Flapper Chick hanging out in one of those "underground" Speakeasy Clubs during prohibition...again DO NOT judge me or give me THAT LOOK!

Here's to the Freakin' Weekend .., and as always- Don't Drink and Drive.
