It's a "Date in History" to celebrate - so let's "uncork" the WINE! Who's in?  It's the Freakin' Weekend....TGIF....It's 5 o'clock SOMEWHERE!!

Thanks to M.L BYRN who patented the first corkscrew in the U.S.A. on this day in 1860.

Research shows that a much earlier patent was granted on July 15, 1856 to George Blanchard of New York, N.Y. for a metallic tube nutmeg grater as the handle of a corkscrew. But hell..a Nutmeg grater won't open my wine so I'm sticking with M.L.BYRN.

Just say NO to the "screw cap"!!!

There's your "History" lesson for the weekend. Time to leave the work week behind.  Now get pouring.
