Niche.com rates schools, teachers, and school districts from every state in the country. Their rankings are based on state test scores, student-teacher ratio, student diversity, teacher quality, and the overall quality of the school district. 

The following are the top ten public elementary schools in Connecticut as rated by Niche.com.

1. North Mianus School - Greenwich

2. King's Highway Elementary School - Westport

3. International School at Dundee - Riverside

4. Saugatuck Elementary School - Westport

5. Riverside School - Riverside

6. Long Lots School - Westport

7. Glenville School - Glenville

8. West School - New Canaan

9. East School - New Canaan

10. South School - New Canaan

Ridgefield had six elementary schools in the top 50, while Glastonbury and West Hartford elementary schools dominated the 40 through 50 rankings. For the entire list from Niche.com, click here.

Skimming over the top public elementary schools in America, I found the states of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts dominating the top 22 spots. The first CT school to place in the top 100 was North Mianus School in Greewich at #37. In fact, every single school who made the top ten in Connecticut were ranked in the top 100 public elementary schools in America. Click here for the complete list.

Not to brag, but the Westport and New Canaan school districts were rated in the top 25 of all the school districts in the United States. Congratulations Connecticut!
