We had a blast at the Connecticut Wing Fest on Jan. 24 where 16 Connecticut wing makers competed for the title of "Connecticut's Best Wings."

Beer was flowing from Half Full Brewery; there was dancing thanks to music from The Trolls; former New York Giant Jeff Feagles was signing autographs; we gave out prizes and of course there was all different kinds of chicken wings.

The judges (Christine, Victoria, Tim, Dan, and Paul) nearly had their faces burned off by some of the wings they tried. Though it was a tough battle, there were two Connecticut wing purveyors who came out on top at the Connecticut Wing Fest.

Mezon Tapas Bar & Restaurant in Danbury took home two awards the "People's Choice Award," voted on by attendees of the Connecticut Wing Fest, and the "Connecticut's Best Wings Award," aka the "Jim Clarke Memorial King of the Wings Trophy" decided on by the judges.

Wing It On of Waterbury almost made the judges cry with their wings that won the "Hottest Wings Award."

Here's what the local restaurant owners had to say about their win.

Thanks to you the Connecticut Wing Fest was a sold-out event. We hope to see you there next year!
