Now here's something I can wrap my mind around. Wait, scratch that, wrap my...um...yeah, I better not go there!

I'm no wine snob. I pretty much love it all, and love to try it all. I've done my fair share of wine tasting events from Connecticut, to Massachusetts, to Michigan, to California, and even France. You make it, I'll try it.

Connecticut is home to 37 vineyards that grow their own grapes. There are amazing wines produced in our state. A day trip along the Connecticut Wine Trail is a fantastic adventure. Now you have even more incentive to take a ride.

A press release from Governor Malloy's office just announced a renewed effort in Connecticut to encourage people to visit the many vineyards across the state.

We have more than three dozen vineyards that produce a number of high-quality wines. Our state’s Passport to Connecticut Farm Wineries program offers folks a perfect opportunity to explore the diversity that each of our unique farm wineries have to offer

The Passport to Connecticut Farm Wineries has been in operation for awhile now. This year there are more great prizes included. The Wine Passport program runs from May 5 - Nov. 5, and you can get your new passport at any participating winery.

Prizes you say? Hell yes, there are awesome ones to be found at passporttoctfarmwine.com

Grand Prize #1: Get 34 or more stamps in your passport, and you're entered into a two-week trip for two, including airfare and lodging, to Benalmadena Palace, Hotel and Spa in Spain. In addition, this group of passport participants are entered into a second drawing for a Round Trip Chauffered Limousine to the Connecticut Wine Festival, with up to eight guests

For anyone with 16 or more stamps in your passport, you are entered into a drawing for the following prizes:

Grand Prize #2: A two-week trip for two, including airfare and lodging, Benalmadena Palace, Hotel and Spa in Spain

First Prize: A pair of 14k White gold diamond studs

Second Prize: A limousine wine tour on a Sunday of your choice for eight people to Connecticut wineries.

But wait, there's more. For all the details click on passporttoctfarmwine.com

How cool is this? The list of wineries is varied and statewide. Matter of fact, three new wineries located in Granby, Lyme, and Waterford recently opened and have joined the Passport program.

Start making plans now for your tasting adventures. Head out to a local winery and grab your free Passport. Then every time you visit a new winery, bring your passport and have it stamped. Once you get 16 stamps, you can enter to win the prizes.

That's some serious Cheers!
