Zika is still very much on everyone's mind.

Here they come. No one is a stranger to the mosquito breeding grounds that start to pop up this time of year. It's the old adage, with good - Summer, comes bad - mosquitoes!

For years, we've heard about mosquitoes carrying West Nile virus and eastern equine encephalitis. CT.gov has added the threat of the Zika virus to the mix.

In a story from Courant.com, Connecticut's mosquito trapping and testing program gets underway this week. The state tests for West Nile virus and eastern equine encephalitis, but this year has added testing for the Zika virus. The first test results will be available next week. Even though the seven Connecticut residents that have tested positive for Zika contracted it while traveling overseas, better we stay safe than sorry.
