Two Connecticut lawmakers are keeping an eye on what we eat, and how foods are labeled.

You know the saying, "You are what you eat." Well, now, the question is, do you know exactly what you are eating?

Two of Connecticut's lawmakers are looking for more truth in advertising. According to WFSB.com, Senator Richard Blumenthal and Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro are calling on the Food and Drug Administration to regulate and define use of the term "natural" on food labels. Ask most people about what they think the term "natural" on a label means, and they'll likely say that there's no artificial or modified ingredients being used in the product.

Well Consumerist.com says that the FDA has no rules to define or regulate the use of the term natural in food labeling. They also say that the Food and Drug Administration is reconsidering that. Blumenthal and DeLauro feel that consumers need to know exactly what they are buying when looking for healthier options in food.
