We need to honor the Petit women by never forgetting.

July 23, 2007. The date when true evil came to Cheshire Connecticut.

July 23, 2007. A date that will forever haunt not only the families and friends of Jennifer, Hayley and Michaela, but also the people of Connecticut.

July 23, 2007. A date nine years later that may see a big change.

According to the Hartford Courant, the Cheshire home invasion killers may have their death sentences officially changed to life in prison next week.

Joshua Komisarjevsky and Steven Hayes were both sentenced to death after being convicted of killing Jennifer Hawke-Petit and her daughters Hayley and Michaela on July 23, 2007. This newest twist is because Connecticut's Supreme Court recently upheld a lower court ruling overturning the death penalty in Connecticut. That move has spared the lives of Connecticut's 11 formerly condemned murderers.

I don't feel it's my place to impose upon you my feelings about the debate over the death penalty.

But I do want you to never forget July 23, 2007.
