Concert Time Capsule: Def Leppard Rocks Connecticut Today in 1993
25 years ago today, Def Leppard brought their Adrenalize tour to the Hartford Civic Center.
I was at this show. It sticks out in my mind because I was supposed to have tickets left for me at the box office but they weren't there and the show was sold out. As we were trying to find an ATM and a scalper, a lady that had a minor child care emergency at home saw us in obvious distress and offered us her tickets for free! Not to mention they were much better seats than we originally had.
I've always had a soft spot for Def Leppard because they were the first Rock stars from my high school days that were close to my age. That sounds silly looking back, but the Stones, Zeppelin, et cetera were all "ancient" guys in their 30's to a 16 year old rocker! Glad to see them still at it. In fact, they'll be back in the same building, now the XL Center, with Journey on May 21.
Here's the setlist from the 1983 show, according to setlist.fm:
Let's Get Rocked
Tear It Down
Too Late for Love
Make Love Like a Man
Guitar Solo (Phil Collen)
Guitar Solo (Vivian Campbell)
Gods of War
Acoustic Medley Section
Back in Black
You Can't Always Get What You Want
Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad
Rock of Ages
Pour Some Sugar on Me
And, here's a full length concert from Sheffield England on the same tour.
