If you've been following the fate of the Danbury Whalers, here's what we know. The Whalers's lease to play at the Danbury Arena was not renewed effective on April 13, 2015.

We know that operating partner, Herm Sorcher has taken a new job with a new FHL team that will play their home games at the Brewster Ice Arena, and we also know that Bruce Bennett, the owner of Bruce Bennett Nissan, who we talked with yesterday morning, was a huge fan of the Whalers.

So much so, that he's trying to secure investors for the purpose of purchasing another minor league hockey team to play at the Danbury Ice Arena. Where does that leave former Danbury Whaler coach, Phil Esposito?

Lou and I decided to find out.

An article in the News-Times a couple of days ago, stated that Danbury Whaler's operating partner, Herm Sorcher, will still remain a part owner of the Whalers and will serve as the GM of the new Brewster team. Sorcher also said that they have reached a multi year lease deal with the Brewster Ice Arena.
