Civil Air Patrol Collecting Worn U.S. Flags in Danbury

We all know not to throw out our flag, but what do we do when it's no longer presentable?

We've all seen them. Maybe you've even had one yourself. An American Flag that has gotten tattered and worn. We should all know that "Old Glory" deserves better. But we also know that throwing the flag away is not the way to go.

Thankfully, the Civil Air Patrol is here to help.

The Civil Air Patrol's 399th Composite Squadron in Danbury, will collect American Flags no longer fit for service so that they can be formally retired in an approved ceremony on Flag Day. Collection is free of charge.

Collection date is Saturday April 23 from 9 am until 4 pm at the Stop & Shop, 44 Lake Ave., Ext. Danbury, Connecticut.

Did you also know that the Civil Air Patrol is an all volunteer U.S. Air Force auxillary. They are also the newest member of the Air Force's Total Force.
